Rolling Disciples: Finding Your Community in RV Ministry

Friends and fellowship with RV ministry

As I sit here writing this, I have just finished ten amazing days of community with so many of my favorite people. Some I have been blessed to gather with before, and others I never would have met if it wasn’t for this RV community.

We share a love for God and are drawn together by the same passions. There is truly nothing like it; the blessings are immeasurable.

So how about you? Are you feeling called to a spiritual journey that combines your love for the open road with a desire to serve? Christian RV Ministry offers incredible ways to live out your faith. For volunteers, it is a unique opportunity to build deep relationships and connect with believers across the country.

Imagine traveling to beautiful places, meeting people from all walks of life, and immediately finding common ground. That is the beauty of this lifestyle! You aren’t just serving; you are becoming part of a vibrant fellowship where strangers quickly become lifelong friends who share your commitment to Christ.

Sunset over dark hills with a dramatic sky of blue, gray, and orange clouds. Sun rays spread across a serene landscape.

You might find yourself gathered around a campfire, sharing stories and laughter under a starry sky. This is the reality for many who volunteer. You are instantly connected with people who share your heart and your mission. It is an environment ripe for making friends who feel like family and finding genuine prayer partners for the road ahead.

At its core, this ministry is about building connections rooted in the love of God. You will quickly discover that the right people are drawn to this calling—those who are eager to trust Him and serve others. This shared mission creates an immediate bond, making it easy to experience the true joy of Christian fellowship.

The Gift of Reunion

Perhaps the best-kept secret of RV ministry is the "reunion factor." You are often blessed with the chance to reconnect with dear friends you haven't seen in months.

  • Picking Up Where You Left Off: Even if you only communicate through messages or chats during the off-season, seeing those familiar faces at a new campsite feels like coming home.

  • Deepening Roots: Reuniting allows you to see how God has worked in each other’s lives since your last time together, turning acquaintances into kindred spirits.

  • Strengthening the Bond: There is a special comfort in working with those who already know your strengths and share your dedication to the Lord.

Staying Connected Between Stops

In today’s world, the miles between us don’t have to mean silence. We are so blessed to be part of the online ministry Your Jesus Journey, which serves as our digital home base when we are between destinations.

The twin Your Jesus Journey trucks on the road

Through this community, many of us use online chats and group Bible studies—specifically the Journey Groups—to stay rooted in the Word together, no matter what time zone we are in. It is a place where you can invite friends from previous adventures to stay connected, ensuring your walk with God is never a lonely one. Whether we are meeting someone for the first time on a screen or hugging an old friend at a trailhead, the bond we share makes every encounter significant.

Whether you are pulling into a camp for the first time or the fiftieth, RV ministry is a constant reminder that we never truly travel alone. It is a beautiful cycle of greeting new faces with open arms and celebrating the joy of seeing familiar ones from miles back.

As you navigate your own path, remember that every connection made and every heartfelt reunion is a testament to God’s grace. By stepping out of your comfort zone and choosing to trust Him with your travels, you aren't just seeing the sights—you are becoming part of a global fellowship that lives out its faith one mile at a time.

Ready for the Next Stop?

So, pack your gear, check your maps, and prepare your heart. The right people are waiting for you at the next stop, ready to share a conversation, a prayer, and a lifetime of friendship.

As for me? I am already looking forward to the next horizon—I can't wait to reunite with some of the best friends I’ve ever had.

But I want to hear from you! Where are you headed next? Drop a comment below and let me know where your journey is taking you this season.

And if you’re looking for a place to belong while you’re between campsites, don’t forget to join us at Your Jesus Journey. We would love to have you in our online community so we can stay connected, no matter where the road leads.

See you out there!

Tammy and Bruce's bio

Tammy and Bruce have been married for 38 years, navigating life as best friends and partners in faith. Their days are a beautiful blend of service and creativity: Tammy serves her community as an active EMT when she isn't on the road, while Bruce, a retired Law Enforcement officer, is the visionary artist behind God’s Country Art.

Between the adrenaline of emergency medicine and the peace of the open road, Tammy is a lifelong writer currently preparing to publish her debut Christian Fantasy novel, Beyond the Mirror’s Edge.

Together, they are devoted parents who find God’s handiwork in everything—from a life-saving moment in the field to a quiet piece of hand-carved wood. Whether through fellowship with others online at Your Jesus Journey, or a campfire chat at a new campsite, they are committed to sharing the love of Christ one mile at a time.

Although I feel saddened that I missed the Quartsite gathering, reading this article reminded me how blessed I am to call you all my family in Christ. The online community built here with Your Jesus Journey is powerful and life-changing. I can't wait for our next journeys together!

Tammy, I feel the same way... reflecting after serving, meeting so many people (some new, some meeting in person for the 1st time) witnessing God's hand in so many things at the Quartzite RV show, this ministry has changed our life. Living on the road full-time, with 2 kids, Bret and I are so fortunate and blessed to have a family wherever we go. You are right, when we all get together it is like no time has passed, we just pick up where we left off. Thank you for your heartfelt words and for your incredible friendship ❤️
